Such a “Bad” Friday to call it “Good Friday”

It was a bad Friday for the crowds who had just a few days before chanted “Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” and who had experienced the hands that could heal and hands that could feed the thousands.

It was a bad Friday for all the religious leaders who were tired of this rebellious man who had turned their religious ceremonies and traditions upside down.

It was a bad Friday for Judas Iscariot, a trusted disciple who deceitfully sold out his Lord and betrayed him for just a few bucks. And eventually took his own life in suicide.

It was a bad Friday for the outspoken Peter as he cowardly denied even knowing the Rabbi who had become his best friend.

It was a bad Friday for the disciples as they scattered and ran from all the chaos and trouble that were upon them. It was a bad Friday as all the hopes and dreams of the last three years turned into a nightmare.

It was a bad Friday for all those who had thought that He had come to finally rescue them for the oppressive hand of the Romans and give them the political kingdom they had been praying for.

It was a bad Friday for the women who loved Him and had devotedly followed Him to the very last end.

It was a bad Friday for the stranger Simeon who had been forced to partly carry the cross of this half-naked, bloodied and beaten, accused criminal, Jesus.

It was a bad Friday for the soldiers that hung Him on the cross and driven the spikes into his hands and feet.

It was a bad Friday for all of creation as the sky grew dark and the sun refused to shine, and the earth began to quake because the Lord of all creation was dying at the hands of His own created beings.

It was certainly, a bad Friday for His mother Mary, who had miraculously conceived and given birth to the Son of God; raised him in hopes of Him being the long-awaited Messiah.

It was undoubtedly, a bad Friday for the Son of God Himself, as he cried out on the cross between two thieves, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

Yes…Indeed…It was a bad Friday…

Until…

SUNDAY MORNING!!! HE AROSE!! HALLELUJAH!! CHRIST AROSE!!

Because of the powerful, supernatural resurrection of Christ from the dead, bad Friday became “Good Friday”!

All the “bad” from Friday was actually the “good” the Father had planned. You see, “While we were still weak, AT THE RIGHT TIME (on bad Friday), Christ died for the ungodly” Romans 5:6

We can say with Romans 8:28 that:

…God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Don’t despair this Friday. Our Sovereign God is at work among the tragedies of this life. What the enemy means for evil God is working for our Good! So not even the darkest, most evil ever imagined is able to overcome the Goodness and Greatness of our Resurrected Lord!

So, I say to you Happy Good Friday!
